Gasparilla Island and Bocca Grande

This week our beach trip took us to Gasparilla Island.

There is a one way fee of $6 to cross the bridge onto the island.

Once on the island you can take a road all the way down to the southern tip you will come to Lighthouse Park on Boca Pass. However there is no swimming there because of the strong current caused by Bocca Pass. The day we were there the tide was really high and there was only little patches of beach.

We did find a spot further north on the island. Thes beaches are all left in their natural state. Only one other family there. Even saw a small pod of dolphins. It was an overcast day but we enjoyed a nice relaxing day on the beach with Subway and a few beers for lunch. Even had some wave action
